Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) is a sterile water preparation containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which acts as a bacteriostatic agent. It is the essential solvent used to reconstitute lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides and medications for injection. The presence of benzyl alcohol prevents the growth of bacteria within the vial for up to 28 days after the initial puncture, ensuring the safety and stability of the dissolved compound. Proper reconstitution with BAC Water is critical for maintaining the sterility and efficacy of peptide products. It allows for multiple uses from a single vial while minimizing the risk of contamination, making it a fundamental component of any peptide research or administration protocol.
