Epitalon (also known as Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide—a short chain of four amino acids—developed from a natural peptide found in the pineal gland. It is widely considered a cornerstone of longevity research because it addresses the core biological "clock" of cellular aging.
How it Works
Epitalon is primarily studied as a Telomerase Activator. Its mechanisms include:
-
Telomere Maintenance: Each time a cell divides, the protective caps on our DNA (telomeres) shorten. Epitalon stimulates the enzyme telomerase, which helps repair and lengthen these caps, potentially extending the lifespan of cells beyond their natural limit.
-
Pineal Gland Support: It helps rejuvenate the pineal gland, restoring the natural secretion of melatonin. This is essential for deep, restorative sleep and overall antioxidant protection.
-
Gene Expression: Research suggests it can "reactivate" certain genes that have become dormant with age, restoring a more youthful pattern of protein synthesis and cellular function.
Research Findings
-
Longevity and Lifespan: Long-term clinical trials have shown that Epitalon can significantly increase maximum lifespan and reduce age-related mortality by improving cellular health.
-
Immune Restoration: Studies indicate it can help restore T-cell function, strengthening the immune system against infections and age-related decline.
-
DNA Protection: Preclinical research has observed that Epitalon helps stabilize DNA, which may decrease the incidence of spontaneous tumors and slow the progression of certain types of cancer.
-
Metabolic Health: It has been shown to help normalize carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, which often becomes less efficient as we age.
Reconstitution & Dosing Protocol
This protocol is specifically calculated for a 50mg vial of Epitalon reconstituted with 8ml of Bacteriostatic Water.
1. Preparation (Reconstitution)
-
Gently inject 8ml of Bacteriostatic Water into your 50mg vial of Epitalon.
-
To avoid damaging the peptide, let the water run slowly down the inside wall of the glass.
-
Do not shake the vial. Gently swirl or roll it until the powder is fully dissolved and the liquid is clear.
-
Important: Store the vial in the refrigerator at all times after mixing.
2. The Dosing Method (Subcutaneous Injection)
-
Frequency: Inject once daily. Research cycles typically last 10 to 20 days and are repeated twice per year.
-
Administration: Use a standard U-100 insulin syringe. Inject into the fatty tissue (stomach or thigh).
The Protocol (Choose one based on research goals):
-
Standard Anti-Aging Dose (500mcg): Draw the liquid to the 8 unit mark on your insulin syringe and inject once daily.
-
Moderate Research Dose (1mg): Draw the liquid to the 16 unit mark on your insulin syringe and inject once daily.
-
High-Level Clinical Dose (5mg): Draw the liquid to the 80 unit mark on your insulin syringe and inject once daily. (Note: This is a large volume and may require a larger syringe).
