LL-37 (CAP-18) 5 mg Vial: Dosage Protocol (3 mL Dilution)

LL-37 is a human-derived antimicrobial peptide researched for its broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, immune-modulating properties, and its role in accelerating wound healing.

1. Reconstitution (Mixing)

  • Diluent: Add 3.0 mL of Bacteriostatic Water to your 5 mg vial.

  • Concentration: This creates a 1.67 mg/mL solution.

  • Measurement: On a standard U-100 (1 mL) insulin syringe:

    • 1 Unit ≈ 16.7 mcg

    • 3 Units ≈ 50 mcg

    • 6 Units ≈ 100 mcg

Reconstitution Steps:

  1. Draw 3.0 mL of bacteriostatic water into a sterile syringe.

  2. Inject the water slowly down the inside wall of the vial to avoid foaming.

  3. Gently swirl or roll the vial between your hands until the powder is fully dissolved. Do not shake.

  4. Label the vial and store in the refrigerator.

2. The Titration Schedule

(Doses are administered via subcutaneous injection once daily)

Week  Daily Dose (mcg) Syringe Volume (Units)

Week 1  50 mcg  3 Units

Week 2  100 mcg  6 Units

Week 3  150 mcg  9 Units

Week 4  200 mcg  12 Units

Week 5  250 mcg  15 Units

Week 6  300 mcg  18 Units

Week 7  350 mcg  21 Units

Week 8  400 mcg  24 Units

Note: Some research protocols utilize a "5-days-on, 2-days-off" schedule to maintain sensitivity.

3. Administration & Storage

  • Method: Subcutaneous injection into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate sites daily.

  • Precision Tip: Because early doses are very small (under 10 units), using 30-unit or 50-unit insulin syringes will provide much better accuracy and readability.

  • Storage: * Unopened Vials: Store in the freezer at -20°C.

    • Reconstituted Vials: Store in the refrigerator (2°C – 8°C) and protect from light. Use within 4 weeks. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

4. Supplies Needed (8-Week Cycle)

To complete a standard 8-week protocol, you will typically require:

  • Peptide: 3 vials of LL-37 (5 mg each).

  • Syringes: ~60 insulin syringes (one per day).

  • Water: 1 bottle (10 mL) of Bacteriostatic Water.

  • Swabs: 2 boxes of alcohol swabs (one for the vial, one for the skin).
