HIGHLIGHTS
NAD+ is a critical coenzyme found in every living cell, essential for energy metabolism and maintaining DNA integrity. As a primary electron transporter in the mitochondria, NAD+ facilitates the conversion of nutrients into cellular energy (ATP). It also serves as a necessary substrate for sirtuins and PARP enzymes, which regulate cellular aging, DNA repair, and systemic inflammation. In research models, increasing NAD+ levels is studied for its ability to reverse age-related metabolic decline, enhance cognitive function, and support cellular longevity.
Observed Benefits
-
Mitochondrial Optimization: Enhances the efficiency of the Electron Transport Chain to increase ATP (energy) production.
-
DNA Repair Activation: Acts as a substrate for PARP enzymes to identify and repair damaged genetic material.
-
Sirtuin Activation: Stimulates "longevity genes" (SIRT1-7) that regulate cellular health and stress resistance.
-
Neuroprotection: Studied for its role in maintaining neuronal integrity and supporting cognitive clarity.
-
Metabolic Homeostasis: Observed to improve insulin sensitivity and lipid metabolism in research subjects.
Protocol Overview
Research involving NAD+ utilizes subcutaneous administration. To maintain consistency within the Biolabs Peptides South Africa Research Centre, we provide protocols for both the 500mg pre-mixed liquid and the 1000mg powder vial. For the 1000mg vial, we utilize a 3.0 mL reconstitution volume to ensure a manageable and standardized concentration.
Research Protocol Dosing
Concentration Reference:
-
500mg / 10mL (Liquid): 50 mg per mL (1 unit = 0.5 mg).
-
1000mg Vial (Add 3.0 mL Bac Water): ~333.3 mg per mL (1 unit = ~3.33 mg).
Phase 1: Initial Loading (25 mg per dose)
-
500mg/10mL Liquid: 50 units on a U-100 syringe.
-
1000mg Vial (3mL mix): 7.5 units on a U-100 syringe.
Phase 2: Standard Research Dose (50 mg per dose)
-
500mg/10mL Liquid: 100 units (1.0 mL) on a U-100 syringe.
-
1000mg Vial (3mL mix): 15 units on a U-100 syringe.
Phase 3: High-Intensity Research (100 mg per dose)
-
500mg/10mL Liquid: Requires two 100-unit (1.0 mL) injections.
-
1000mg Vial (3mL mix): 30 units on a U-100 syringe.
Supplies Needed
-
Biolabs Peptides NAD+: 500mg Liquid or 1000mg Lyophilized Vial.
-
Reconstitution Liquid: 3.0 mL of Bacteriostatic Water (for the 1000mg vial only).
-
Syringes: U-100 Precision Insulin Syringes (1.0 mL capacity recommended).
-
Prep: Sterile alcohol swabs for vial and site sterilization.
Storage
-
Pre-reconstitution (1000mg Powder): Store frozen at -20°C (-4°F) for long-term stability.
-
Post-reconstitution / Liquid (500mg & 1000mg): Must be kept refrigerated at 2–8°C (36–46°F). NAD+ is sensitive to light and heat; keep in the original box when possible. Use within 30–60 days of opening or mixing.
-
Handling: Do not shake. Gently swirl the vial to ensure the coenzyme is fully dissolved in the solution.
